Ed Simpson was second to complete the Twelve Corners of Virginia Ride.

I did the Twelve Corners in 4 easy steps:

  1. Rode East to New Point, spent the night with a friend one mile away in Bavon Beach. Next day, rode over the Bay-Bridge Tunnel North to Chincoteague and then back South to False Cape State Park. On the way back to Roanoke, I stopped in Sprouse's Corner for a "bonus."
  2. Rode West to Whitetop Mountain, then farther West to Middlesboro, Kentucky. It was on to Breaks Interstate Park and finally to Pocahontas, Virginia. 15.5 hours later, I made it back to Roanoke. Long Day!
  3. Rode up I-81 to Winchester and then on to Cacapon State Park. Continued East over to Harper's Ferry and then South to White's Ferry. I was planning to pick up Bluegrass and Paint Bank on the way home, but the alarm did not go off in hte A.M., so I got a 2.5 hour late start. (527 mile day)
  4. Quick Ride! Roanoke to Paint Bank, Paint Bank to Bluegrass, and back to Roanoke. (267 miles)
